We'll be shallow water fly fishing & sight casting along the Texas coast for redfish, but never pass up the opportunity to hook drum, trout or flounder!
I can accommodate 2 anglers on my boat. If you have a larger group, let me know and I will do my best to accommodate with the help of other guides in the area. Reservations for all trips are encouraged; however, we will also try to accommodate last-minute bookings.
TRIP PREP
Because proper preparation prevents poor performance.
SUNSCREEN
SPF is essential for a long day on the water with very limited shade.
POLARIZED GLASSES
We recommend brown, copper, and amber lenses as they work the best along the Texas coastline.
CLOTHING
Light colored clothing and long sleeved SPF rated shirts and pants will help keep the sun off you and will limit having to reapply sunscreen. Hats, specifically with a dark or black under brim, will help you see better. Please wear non-marking shoes, but I recommend fishing shoeless so you can feel if you're standing on your line.
SUSTENANCE
Lunch is not provided - if you would like lunch or snacks, please bring them. Water and ice will be provided. Keep in mind that space is limited - there will be a small cooler on the boat for any food or beverages you might want to bring.TACKLE
Capt. Wes has high-quality fly fishing gear available to use and you are more than welcome to bring your own. Using 7-9 weight rods with weight forward floating lines are perfect.
Flies will be provided and will have plenty, but feel free to bring your selection and he can pick one out for any situation. Artificial baits and spin rods will also be on-hand for anyone that would like to sight fish, but do not fly fish.
